Nicole
Kerkenbush

Nicole Kerkenbush, MHA, MN, RN, BSN, CDH-E, joined CHIME (College of Healthcare Information Management Executives) as the Vice President of Education in July of 2023. She is honored to help exceptional leaders transform health and care through CHIME educational offerings and events.

Prior to joining CHIME, Kerkenbush served at Monument Health in Rapid City, South Dakota from 2016 to July 2023. Kerkenbush began her time with Monument Health as the first Vice President of Data Analytics, and later served on the Executive Team in the roles of Chief Performance Officer and Chief Nursing and Performance Officer.

Prior to working in non-profit healthcare, Kerkenbush served 24 years in the United States Army Nurse Corps where she focused on supporting quality healthcare with information and technology. Key roles that Nicole served in during her time in the Army include Chief Information Officer, Chief Medical Information Officer, and Military Functional Deputy Program Executive Officer. She also served as the Nursing Informatics Consultant to the Army Surgeon General for four years. Kerkenbush retired at the rank of Colonel. 

Kerkenbush received Masters Degrees in Healthcare Administration and Nursing, as well as a Certificate in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. She is a Certified Digital Health Executive (CDH-E) and Lean Yellow Belt.
