ANDY CROWDER

J. Andrew Crowder is Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer and Southeast Region & Enterprise Chief Digital Technology Officer for Advocate Health, the third-largest nonprofit integrated health system in the United States – created from the combination of Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health.

Advocate Health is a national leader in clinical innovation, health outcomes, consumer experience and value-based care, with Wake Forest University School of Medicine serving as the academic core of the enterprise. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Advocate Health serves nearly 6 million patients across 67 hospitals and over 1,000 care locations. 

Crowder joined Atrium Health in 2019 where he took the helm of the full IT and operation spectrum of Atrium Health. As part of this work, Crowder is leading Atrium Health’s multi-year digital acceleration strategy to support the organization’s long-term growth, provide new care delivery models and deliver streamlined tools to our caregivers, which includes transitioning to a standard platform for electronic health records and clinical systems across the enterprise. Additionally, he is leading the organization’s transition to a single teammate service platform that will improve the employee experience, help empower teammates and increase productivity as the enterprise continues to grow. 

Prior to joining Atrium Health, Crowder served as SVP & CIO for Scripps Health, a non-profit healthcare system based in San Diego, California. Additional leadership positions held throughout his career include SVP & CIO for Maine Health, the largest healthcare organization in Maine and a leading healthcare provider serving northern New Hampshire, as well as SVP & CIO for Florida Hospital, one of America’s largest hospitals.

Under Crowder’s leadership, Atrium Health has twice been named Computerworld’s Best Places to Work in IT. Crowder is dual degreed in Computer Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and is a CHIME certified Chief Information Officer. He is a two-time Orbie finalist.
